Find MP3s On The Web And Youtube With MP3shki

MP3shki may have a very strange name (I don’t even know how to pronounce it), but it is a very handy site to bookmark. It’s an MP3 search engine that not only searches for mp3s on the web, it also crawls sites like YouTube and last.fm from music.

Songs can be searched for by artist or song name, and results can be played directly from the search results. Thanks to Martin for the great find.

List Of Free Music Download Sites

Martin at gHacks has been busy of late. His latest effort has been pulling together a list of sites where music can be downloaded for free.

Not content with just producing a monster list, Martin has even categorized the sites. Some of the sites only offer streamed music, so if you want to download it then read this guide to Grab++ which allows you to download music from streaming sites.

Download Music, Movies And TV Shows From iTunes For Free!

I’ve stopped buying music and movies from iTunes as I hate the DRM issues. However, if you follow these great tips from Amit you will be able to download free Music and Movies From iTunes. I would move quickly on this one as I’m sure iTunes will close the loophole soon!

Step 1: Start iTunes software and open the iTunes Store by pressing Ctrl+Shift+H or click here.

Step 2: Open the Music Videos, Movies, TV Shows or Music link depending on the stuff you plan to download from the iTunes store.

Step 3: Create a new playlist in iTunes and name that as “_Phobos__Dnldstr_36c_” [replace the underscores with spaces, there's another space at the begining and one at end]

Step 4: Drag-n-drop all the music videos, films and TV episodes that you want to download to the above folder playlist in iTunes.

Step 5: Export the above list as an XML file which will have links to download the shows from iTunes without paying any fee. If you don’t see the download links in the iTunes XML file, make sure that you have created the playlist in Step 3 correctly.

YouTube Music Video Browser

I was talking to my mate Th3rub3x on Google Talk today and he told me about a site he’s set up that allows you to just watch music videos from YouTube in a neat site. It’s like having your own on-demand music video station.

The site has scrapped all the music videos it can from YouTube and to find music all you have to do is click the letter of the artist that you want to hear. If you want to find a specific band, then click “All Artists”, and type Control F. This will bring up a search box on your browser.

Th3rub3x has even given handy instructions on how to download videos on his blog. This site is going to get even better soon as there are some cool new features in the pipeline, so keep an eye on this one as I think it’s going places.

Find Free Online Music And Playlists

Tech Digest over in Great Britain have unearthed a great new service that helps you find free sources of music on the internet.

The Hype Machine searches the web for websites and blogs featuring music tracks of your chosen artist or versions of a chosen track. It compiles what it finds into a playlist, which you can play in the media player of your choice. And even better – you can save your search as an RSS feed, updating when new music is found.

Given that these sources probably don’t have the rights to share their music with you, this is probably highly illegal. But, if you’re prepared to take your chances then this could be a good source of free music on the fly.

I’ll be taking a wee break over Christmas to spend with my family and loved ones. I hope you all have a fantastic holiday and break.

Make Winamp Sound Better

Winamp is a great free music player and now you can make it sound better. The easiest way to do this is to download Enhancer 017 which is free and activate the “General improvements” preset.

Other presets which are worth checking out are “Treble boost”, “Party with ambience”, “Inside the music”.
