Want to know how to make money from twitter?  Even if you only have a few hundred followers you could make money by sending automatically one tweet per day featuring a message from an advertiser. Ad.ly is a new service that injects a maximum of one tweet per day featuring advertising.  Twitter users get to set their price and advertisers then can purchase those slots.  Some bloggers are making more than $100 per ad.ly tweet!  There’s also a referral program for users, where users get paid a decent 12% of the income that their referrals make.

Some users may object to receiving adverts from the accounts that they follow, but the backlash is likely to be minimal – how much damage can be done in 140 characters?

  • I have started to see more and more of these in Twitter. I also thought this was going to be the best revenue model for Twitter. (I am sure Twitter will get a piece of the money soon) I know friends that have 5k-6k followers that are trying it out. Not much money so far, but we will see.
