Top Tip: Click here to run a free scan for common PC errors

Windows Explorer copies large files in a in an inefficient and mysterious way. Inefficient because it takes more time than it should, and mysterious because the time required displayed never matched the actual time taken to copy/move files. Copying large files, due to this, becomes an inconvenient process.

An alternative to the bothersome process of copying large files via Windows Explorer is Extreme Copy.

download

The *.msi setup file is very small in size (~2 MB) and downloads almost instantly. Installation is another easy step and does not require any clarification.

The reason ExtremeCopy is faster than Windows Explorer is because it auto optimizes speed and resource base according to the user’s machine, which makes use of the maximum speed possible while copying files.

In ExtremeCopy the copy/move process can also be paused at any stage, and resumed afterwards.

Here is how the main window of the current version of ExtremeCopy looks like:

extremecopy

The user has the option of copying a single file or an entire folder.

folder

After choosing the desired option and also selecting the destination folder, the user can click copy or move, whichever is appropriate, and the function is executed 20%-120% faster than Windows Explorer.

desktop

The program is ideal for copying/moving large files which would otherwise take a considerable amount of time on Windows Explorer.
This speedy freeware, which also happens to support multiple languages, is just the tool what Windows users need.
