An Elegant Little Word Processor Exclusively for the Mac

Top Tip: Click here to run a free scan for common PC errors

pagehandWhen writing posts for my blogs I take maximum information from at least 3 or 4 well known resources and of course the official website or a press release.  When it comes to editing my text on Wordpad I feel like Mac users have all the luck, Because while I’m using Word processor interface on Windows I face the space eating toolbars on top, floating toolbars elsewhere, a bazillion small icons to maneuver.

Today, I have confronted PageHand,  a word processor exclusively for the Mac.  A lot of the focus of Pagehand is on the user interface and getting it to be as natural and user friendly as possible. The feature I loved most about the UI was that all necessary and unnecessary controls and dialog boxes were placed outside the text area.

So if I searched for a word I wouldn’t have a big ugly box covering my work area screen.  The search field would show up in an easy to view appropriate area on the panel on the left. Similarly when I’m choosing a font I don’t have to scroll through the thousands I have installed to find just one. PageHand puts them in categories and in an easy access menu on the sidebar so that I can quickly select the font I want.

Another strong area of PageHand is the easy accessibility to the `styles’ `ornaments’ and a ton of other options as well which are a major pain to find and implement in other word processors but are a snap with PageHand.

The software is also pretty good at importing different file formats too at the time of writing .doc, .docx, .odt, .odt, .sxw, .stw, .html, and .webarchive formats. However another unique aspect is its own default format. PageHand saves in a specially modified  PDF file format that allows you to edit files made within PageHand with ease but it can also be universally opened/viewed by all the PDF software currently available across all platforms. All the extra information that PageHand adds to the PDF file is ignored by the rest of the PDF apps out there,

Also with an amusing explanation to back it up, PageHand is now being sold with a 20% discount(bringing it to $39.95. In addition to that you can also have a 30 days free trial period to try the software before purchasing it.
