Top Tip: Click here to run a free scan for common PC errors

Amongst all the plugins you can have for FireFox I rank security plugins the highest, why? Because I’m fed up with web scams / spam and anything else that rhymes with it!
Frequently do I come across a site that contains ton of spyway/adware that latches itself onto my PC and then bogs the whole system down and if it doesn’t do that then its concentrating on straining my internet connection. While I do have great software like LavaSofts Adaware which also becomes a pain by continuously running scans to remove these nuisances. I would much prefer avoiding such sites altogether if I knew beforehand of its danger. Fortunately Firefox’s plugin feature has the answer…
As a plugin `Web OF Trust’ is rather large but there’s a reason for that, it indexes safety ratings for over 21 million sites. With the plugin installed whenever you perform a web search (e.g. antispyware) a colored `safety rating’ icon will be shown against each website in your search results (Green means that the website is Trustworthy, Yellow means that you need to be cautious and Red means danger!) This way you know how unsafe a site is even before entering it.

Their rating data is collected through various means (eg. trusted spam blacklist sites) however the plugins ever growing database is due to WOT users, people just like yourself who rate whether a website was a useful (Read: NOT Spam) place to visit.

Here are some of the problems WOT defends you from:
- Spyware, adware and viruses
- Browser exploits
- Unreliable online shops
- Phishing, spam and other Internet scams
- Annoying or malicious spam
Install Web of Trust
