How to search for a Username on Multiple Websites

Top Tip: Click here to run a free scan for common PC errors

I have always been lucky when it comes to choosing my “username” on some of the most popular websites on the internet. Since I choose the same login name for all my accounts, it becomes really easy to maintain them. I stepped into the world of blogging in January 2008 and started registering on social media websites to promote my website links. I’m glad it had never been annoying for me to find a username that has not been registered already.

Today, I’ve confronted a very cool website which lets you search a specific “username” on all the popular social networking websites including Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Mixx, Propeller, Flickr, Facebook, Blogger and lots more.

Namechk is free online service that checks the availability of your desired username on multiple sites so that you can maintain a single username in most of the networks where it is still available. It has a very clean interface and gets the job done in seconds.

Simply type the name in the search field you want to register on these sites and click “Chk”. Once done it will come up with the availability of the username that are still available. If it has already been taken then you will be notified.

What makes Namechk better than some of the other similar websites is the speed. According to Cnet it averages about 8 seconds from start to finish. Plus you don’t even have to wait to see all the results because they stream in as it does its business.
