Uninstalling Symantec and McAfee software can be a nightmare at times, as there are so many parts, and sometimes they just refuse to go. Even when you are trying to upgrade to a more recent of Symantec or McAfee’s products, sometimes even they can’t remove their own software.

One tool that will remove all 2005, 2006, and 2007 versions of McAfee consumer products is the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool. All you have to do is install this tool and all McAfee software will be removed.
