10 htaccess Hacks To Speedup WordPress

Today’s post may be a bit more technical than my usual posts, but these htaccess tweaks have made such a big difference to my wordpress blog, that I just had to share them.

Editing a .htacess file may seem daunting, but as long as you backup your old file using a FTP client, then you can’t go wrong. The tweaks in this great guide allow you to:

  • 1 – Redirect WordPress RSS feeds to feedburner with htaccess
  • 2 – Remove /category/ from your WordPress url
  • 3 – Using browser cache
  • 4 – Compress static data
  • 5 – Redirect Day and name permalinks to /%postname%/
