After learning the hard way about traffic spikes the first time I got on Digg, I’m very lucky now that my mate Everton is hosting One Tip A Day for me on his server, so I don’t have to worry about my site being up.

If you do host your own WordPress blog, then you really should check out this great post containing 17 Tweaks To Accelerate WordPress.

The tweaks range from simple ones like removing unnecessary plugins especially comment reporting plugins, but advice is given on various caching solutions.  For the more technically minded users out there, various php and mysql tweaks are included.
