Dr. Web is a contender for Firefox plugin of the year. This great Firefox plugin allows you to scan attachements for viruses before downloading them onto your machine. Brilliant if you’re using a machine like a friends, where you’re not sure how good its protection is.

To use the Dr. Web Firefox plugin, all you have to is right-click on a page or a link and Dr. Web’s online scanner takes over and tells you whether the page or file is virus free. Yet another reason to switch to Firefox if you haven’t already done so!
