Top Tip: Click here to run a free scan for common PC errors
Windows Vista has amazing in-built security, and although I find the number of popup alerts acceptable, what does bug me is that Vista repeatedly asks me the same questions. I haven’t quite worked out how to stop Vista doing this, but I have worked out how to automatically run programs as an administrator.
To do this all you have to do is the following:
- Right-click on the shortcut for the program
- Click on the Advanced button
- In the Dialog window that pops up check the box ‘Run As Administrator’
Once you’ve done this that particular application will always run as administrator, which can help solve compatibility problems.
