DVD Region Codes are really annoying. The industry originally said that they were necessary to control distribution of DVD titles, but the real reason was to stop users buying cheaper DVD copies in other countries.
Some DVD players allow you to change the region a set number of times, and although other methods do exist they sometimes can be quite complicated and sometimes risky leaving you with a DVD player that doesn’t work at all.
