Duplicate File Finder
One of the best ways to free up space on a Hard Drive is to remove duplicate files. It’s amazing sometimes how easy it is to save the same file in two places without realising it.
Sometimes the problem is applications that make duplicate copies of files, which in some instances can cause that app to misbehave.

A quick way to locate and remove duplicate files to free up space is to use Duplicate File Finder. This great program does what it says on the box and scans your HDD for duplicate files with 100% accuracy. Once you’ve found a list of culprits then they can be quickly deleted.

The problem with Duplicate File Finder and all similar programs is that it takes a long time and lots of work to clean out your clones when there are many of them. Since the clones a presented in a long list you have to go through each file and decide whether you want to keep or delete it.
Some program solve this by having automatic tools that deletes all clone files but the most recently changed one. To me it seems a bit dary to let the program delete files without total user control.
Clone Tools is a new program on the market that solves this problems by working with folders containing clones instead of clone files directly. You can compare those folders in a twin browser presenting the folder contents side by side. Clone files and folders can be deleted, moved etc or you can dedupe folders by merging them, or erasing all clones in one specific folder with one mouse click.
This method is both fast and safe as you always see exaclty what clones you are deleting.
