Brilliant Freeware Apps To Keep Your Desktop Fresh & Tidy
Nitrogen Notes
The best way to describe Nitrogen Notes is that it allows you to add Postit notes to your desktop. These notes can be added or removed with one click, and can also contain rich text.
TaskbarEX
This great free application isn’t widely available anymore, but you can download a copy from here that was setup by CyberNet. TaskbarEX is a multi-talented application than can do so much, but the great feature which allows you to reduce clutter on your desktop is it allows you to drag items onto your desktop from your taskbar, without the whole window expanding.
As and when you need a particular window you can expand it, and then collapse but keep it on your desktop when you’ve finished.
Tidy Start Menu

Tidy Start Menu makes it extremely easy to create shortcuts in the Start Menu to your favourite programs, and to also organise them into folders. For example, you can create a special “Games” category, and when opening the Start Menu you will see a “Games” section (instead of a list of the games) in which you will find the game you need.
WinRoll
WinRoll is very similar to TaskEx, but a bit slicker. This freeware app allows you to ‘roll’ up windows so that they take up less space on your desktop. Individual windows, or all at the same time, can be minimized, maximized or minimized to the tray area.
This freeware app works on all OSs greater than Windows 2000.
I hope that you found this list useful. If you find any of these apps useful or if you have any others you want to share then please leave a comment below.
