Best Console And Arcade Emulators
I don’t think I’ve reached a gaming standard as high as I did with Speedball2 on my Amiga. I used to have the most competitive games with 2 of my schoolmates. The games were so tight that, that whoever made the first mistake or slip would lose the game.
To play my Amiga roms I used WinUAE. Again download the latest version and search Google for your roms.
Nintendo 64 Emulator
The next emulator I went in search of was a Nintendo 64 emulator as I was desperate to play GoldenEye 007. This game absolutely blew me away. I remember that I had two weeks off before starting a new job, which gave me plenty of time to finish my missions. After a few attempts I managed to get the Project64 Nintendo 64 Emulator working. Once again, once you’ve finished installing Project64 do a search for ‘Nintendo 64 Roms‘ - there are loads out there.
I’d pretty much covered off all my favourites with MAME, Project64 and WinUAE, but my cousin kept going and installed the following emulators after a few hit and misses. I think he’s literally spent the whole weekend playing games with his wife:
- Commodore 64: PC-64 Emulator
- Gameboy: TGB Dual Emulator
- Sinclair Spectrum: Spectaculator
- NeoGeo: Nebula
- Sega Saturn: Satourne
- Playstation: AdriPSX
- Nintendo: RockNESX
Unfortunately there isn’t an emulator for the Xbox or Playstation yet, but I’m sure it won’t be long before one appears.
Hopefully this post will help you re-live some of your favourite gaming memories. Let me know which games you’ve downloaded or wish you could play just one more time.
