Nothing feels better than getting something for free. Well, now you can download free music legally from The Internet Archive.
This collection hosts complete, freely downloadable/streamable, often Creative Commons-licensed catalogs of ‘virtual record labels’.
These ‘netlabels’ are non-profit, community-built entities dedicated to providing high quality, non-commercial, freely distributable MP3/OGG-format music for online download in a multitude of genres. Genres available include:
- Melodic electronica
- Minimal house
- Exotica/kitsch/eclectic
- Rock/mellower indie
- Retro bleep
- Ambient/noise
You can now check for recent Netlabel releases on a standalone ‘Recent Additions’ page (with Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers). You can subscribe to the Netlabels Collection RSS feed to get dynamically updated info on new uploads.
